Medium Vintage Peacock Huipil Bag with Xela Leather

For the girls who love the gorgeous bright peacocks in a special vintage huipil, this is your bag!

The leather from Xela is considered some of the best in all of Guatemala.

The interior is beautiful Corte (Traditional skirt worn by Mayan women.) with leather trimmed pockets and a zipper pocket.

The side pockets are made from gorgeous woven fabric known as Zunil.

Removable shoulder and backpack straps are included to make the bag convertible three ways.

The neckline of the huipil creates gorgeous pockets front and back. 

A huipil is woven on a backstrap loom, which consists of 5-6 pieces of wood and a strap that goes around the weaver's waist, making her part of the loom.   

Fully handmade by an artisan family in a small workshop in Antigua, Guatemala which ensures good working conditions and a sustainable income.
